RIP Tess

A sad time with the lovely Tess leaving us to play and eat bones in doggie heaven... It was rather sudden in the end, but she had a happy and pretty long life at almost ten years old.

So some favourite photos to share.

Firstly - the "I've never done anything wrong in my life" look.

A happy girl!

Tess a day or two after her knee surgery in 2006. Also showing off a fresh all over summer haircut.

Trying to sneak a bone inside..

A reflective moment at the farm.

  1. so sad to lose a valued family member, she looks like she had a great life, I hope Kirk handles his loss too! *btw, house looks great!

  2. Thanks Annie. Kirk is going ok, just a little confused I think. He now has the hard task of choosing between the three dog beds in the family room... He uses all of them each evening just to prove a point I think!

  3. While visiting another blog I noticed the beautiful picture of your BMD Tess and had to click on over here. Was so sad to learn that her picture was featured because she has gone to the 'Rainbow bridge' as they say.

We also have a BMD and he is the love of our life so I can imagine how hard this is. Ten years is quite old for a Berner so I am happy that you had so many years with her. She had a lovely smile and must have been quite a trooper to tolerate the knee surgery (that is quite a picture!).

If you would like to see some pictures of my boy Gus please visit my blog where you will see him in a post tagged "dogs".

    My best,
    Tricia

  4. Thanks Tricia, that is really lovely of you. Yes the BMD are a wonderful breed - so gentle and loving - and of course a little manipulative with those eyes to get their own way!

I checked out Gus and he is a beauty. Just gorgeous. I love them as puppies. I must scan in some of Tess - I don't have them digital. See that is definitely showing her age!

Friends of mine have a 2yo, so still a Berner to love. In fact they were the original owners of Tess before they moved overseas for a while, so I adopted her when she was 2.

  6. Bit out of date now, but I also found your Berner pic while on Jo's blog. I've got two myself (With a 3rd likely to come). Very sad to hear of your loss, but as mentioned, she had a very very good run.

How's the other puppy going now?
